As the day begins, students are greeted by the Head of School and a cadre of student Safety Patrols, who open car doors and assist students into school. Students, faculty, and staff attend chapel services together that are led by members of the church staff and assisted by fifth grade students on a rotating basis.
Our chapel service, taken from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, includes scripture, music, prayer, and a short, interactive homily. Often there are student presentations, announcements, or awards, and birthday blessings are given each Thursday morning. Following chapel, students return to their classrooms to resume the academic portion of their day.
Classroom instruction is supported by resource classes throughout the week, including art, music, library, computer, French, Chinese, Science, and physical education. Faculty and students share lunch together in the lunchroom.
Afternoons consist of continued academic lessons in addition to resource classes and playground time. For our youngest students in pre-kindergarten, there is a short rest time following lunch.
